Skibo Castle, Scotland

A two night stay for two people at Skibo Castle, one of the most exclusive private residential clubs in the world.
www.carnegieclub.co.uk

"Heaven on earth" was how Andrew Carnegie described Skibo Castle, his glorious Highland castle and estate, now home to the Carnegie Club. Set in its own 7,500-acre estate, Skibo Castle is strikingly located in landscaped grounds and wonderfully mature parklands, which sweep majestically down to the Dornoch Firth. The estate itself is enchantingly beautiful and the park around the Castle has an abundance of wildlife. Activities on the estate include falconry, clay pigeon shooting, riding, canoeing and of course, golfing.

So exclusive is Skibo Castle that guests of the Carnegie Club may only stay once in their lifetime, after which they must become members of the club in order to return. The Carnegie Club recreates the Skibo from times past and residents are treated as houseguests of a great sporting estate from the Edwardian era, when service, luxury and style were indeed very special. Rest assured that should you stay at Skibo Castle just once in your life, it will stay with you forever and will remain a treasured memory!

The Castle and Estate:
Skibo Castle boasts magnificent reception rooms, an original marble pool, gymnasium and spa facilities, saunas, massage, beauty treatments as well as a marvellous 18 hole golf course. This famous golf course was originally founded in 1898 and has been subsequently reconstructed – providing a superb championship challenge. In order to explore the 7,500 acre estate, guests have the use of either a golf buggy or their 'own' Vintage Morris Minor to transport them around.

Original furniture and antiquities are in abundance, providing an historical reminder of the Edwardian era.

Public Rooms - Members and guests are encouraged to treat the public rooms as if they are in their own home. All enjoy extensive views over the estate and provide comfortable areas for relaxing. Areas include The Drawing Room, The Music Room, Mr. Carnegie's Study, The Library, The Snooker Room, The Cigar Room and members' only Gunroom.

The Dining Rooms:
Full Scottish breakfast is served daily in Mrs. Carnegie's dining room and The Morning Room. Lunch is available in the clubhouse every day. There is a choice of dining options in the evening, including informal supper at the clubhouse during the summer months, the opportunity to dine more privately in Mrs. Carnegie's dining room at your own table and at the main club table each evening at 20.00 in Mr. Carnegie’s dining room.

Accommodation:
Castle and lodge accommodation comprises 21 sumptuous suites in the Castle and 12 luxurious Lodges in the grounds.

The Castle Bedrooms - The 21 castle suites are of generous proportions and retain many of the original Edwardian features, including tiled and marbled bathrooms with remarkable period fittings.
